Winter Den

I walk in to the den"Hi im back what did i miss?"

"We sent a buncha dogs packin!" I bark. Down twitters happily and flies to my shoulder.

She watched the "dogs" run away and sighed, before she spun on her paw and sat down next to Thunder. Out of boredom, she leaned over and nipped his ear, then took a small step away so that he couldn't reach her with his outstretched paws. She smiled at him as she walked over to a nearby puddle and took a drink and sat on a patch of flowers a few metres away from him.

"Why scare them away? We could of had fun with them"

"Ash is right we could have a little fun."

"If you call fun being seriously injured." She snapped at them.

I flinch from the words before walking to a patch of moss. I crouch down silently in wait. As a hare crosses my path, I spring at it. I let it writher in my paws before snapping its neck. I set it down with the half-eaten elk, taking a bite myself.

"I have to agree with Ash and Convel" he smiled at them, then chukeled. "Besides I just about walk now"

"Just because you can "just" walk, it doesn't mean you are fit enough to fight something." She snapped at Thunder, growling quietly at his confidence. She walked past him and flicked her tail in his face, before doing a small lap of the area and marking their territory.

I flinch again at the words before laying down by a moss covered rock. Soon, I have fallen asleep and dreaming.

Sigh I layied down outstraching his limbs

She returned from her duty and sat down next to Thunder, now calmer and less snappy than before she left. "Need anything to eat? I could possibly catch you a hare or just bring you a piece of elk if you like." She offered him kindly, a calm smile stretched across her muzzle.

"I'm fine, I don't want fuss. I can mange a day with out food" he said

"Whatever, I was just in the hunting mood I guess..." She said, her voice trailing off at the end as her mind wandered across the den area.

I wake up to hear Jewelz asking about food. "I caught a hare, and theres still plenty of that elk left..." I bark.

"You... Caught a hare?" She barked at Amari, obviously impressed as catching a hare takes a lot of work (>.>). "And anyway, I'm not really hungry..."

"Yep. Its with the elk. My instructor told me how to lie in wait for them." I say, feeling proud that Jewelz was impressed.

(Woo! Science lesson time!)

"Convel? Hmph... But hare hunts normally take an average of twenty minutes (>.>)... Eh" She replied, still rather impressed. She laid herself down next to Thunder and poked his ribs. "Did that hurt?" She asked him curiously.

"No, before I came here. He said I was his best student, and for that he told me how to catch hares." I say.

"Ok..." She replied mindlessly to Amari, still fascinated by Thunder's injuries and his improvement.

"No!" he barked trought gritted teeth

I scamper back and Down flys to my shoulder. I lay down and start to watch Jewelz and Thunder.

"Oh really?" She sighed to Thunder, giving him an almost death stare.

Thunder growled "Just don't poke it"

"Fine..." She sighed, knowing that it actually caused him pain. She rolled over and inched up against Thunder so that her back was lightly touching his chest, then slowly closed her eyes, this time not falling asleep.
